“Beulah” K/C Smale Beauty - D.O.B 23/04/2003
From the moment I collected Beulah from Nicola it was obvious that she was keen to learn. Beulah did well at puppy classes and passed the Bronze, Silver and Gold Good Citizen tests when she was just over a year old.I started the dog agility classes soon after her 1st birthday and she took to the training with great vigor. At 18 months old she entered her first competition and her only mistake was to knock a pole off. Over the years she has done really well and won hundreds of rosettes. She has also won 2 x 2nd place trophies and 2 x 3rd place trophies in classes with up to 200 entries. Sadly 1st place trophy has eluded her. At the end of July this year she was placed 8th out of 153 dogs including a lot of border collies proving that she is still very fit. She loves it all.In 2010 Beulah went to Crufts in the Discover Dogs section and took part in the Gold and Silver Good Citizens display team.I am extremely proud of my girl and would like to say how adaptable the Smale bred labradors can be. As well as working in whatever field the owners have chosen they make wonderful family pets and companions.
We are pleased to announce that we have been asked back to do a gundog demonstration on Monday 25th August at Hawkchurch Fete, Nr Axminster, Devon.
Smale Gundogs have had 2 successful litters of puppies from Scrumpy and Kayla. Orders now being taken for 2015
A couple of the puppies have gone to working homes in Germany and Holland. We are delighted to find that the arrangements for travelling them by air and ferry proved very easy.

Congratulations to Greg for the £1687-50 that he raised and donated to the Somerset Farmers Fund on a photo weekend recently.
Nicola has been asked to contribute a monthly article for the Muddypaws website - (see our links page). The idea is she writes a regular article
on the progress of her working dogs with tips on care, training, working etc.
